VSB Archive

Welcome to the VSB Archive. This section of the website contains material - photographs, reports , news sheets, audio clips,- from the past and is maintained as a legacy to all VSB volunteers and staff. Their vitality, passion, creativity and commitment made VSB a great organisation but more, much more was the immense contribution they made to the well-being of people in this community . VSB has amassed considerable material over its 45 years and over the next period we will add to the web archive - so do take a moment or two to browse you never know what you might find or who you might see!!

On behalf of VSB the Trustees of the Foundation offer their thanks to all for the portrayal of volunteering as a creative, liberating and empowering process and one which is at the heart of a just society. An enduring legacy that offers a challenge to this and future generations, best captured in a quote from Martin Luther King's 1963 letter from Birmingham jail.

"So the question is not whether we will be extremists, but what kind of extremists will we be? Will we be extremists for hate or for love? Will we be extremists for the preservation of injustice or the extension of justice?"
